It is interesting to see Israel on the list. One of the most entrenched conflicts in the world, but the hope for peace on both sides is much stronger than most people realize. I have been involved for over three years now in helping bridge the divide between Jews and Palestinians. To this end I buy Palestinian olive oil from three fair trade groups. Two of these groups are Israeli fair trade and environmental activism non-profit organizations. They buy olive oil from the Palestinian farmers as well as help out with the harvest and distribution of their products. I buy the olive oil in bulk from the fair trade groups, bottle it in my garage in Seattle and sell it throughout the US and Canada under the name “Peace Oil”.
