Peace Planet Project on the Radio (again)
More and more, the Internet serves as a radio station for a lot of people, and one of the most popular Internet platforms for radio programs (or podcasts) is BlogTalk Radio. Individuals from all around the world are able to set up their own radio stations and send their messages to the world! One such radio station is ChrisCross Radio, with host Christina L. Ibbotson. Christina generously spent an hour recently with Laura Merrell talking with her about the “story” of the Peace Planet Proclamation and the mission of Peace Planet Foundation. This was an in-depth conversation, with many nuggets of brilliance! You will also get to hear the beautiful spoken word and musical rendition of the Peace Planet Proclamation by Mike Pinder (twice!). We think you’ll be moved. Take a little time to listen, and then feel free to leave comments here; we’d love to hear from you!
Global Prayer/Meditation for 2010 - 01.02.2010
Please join Peace Planet Project on January 2, 2010, at 11:00 am for a very special time of prayer and heartfelt focus as the New Year of 2010 begins! Our intention is to come together as a global community, to call forth the world that we know is possible. On this day, may we commit to using the precious human life we have been given to expand our hearts in new ways, embracing creativity and collaboration, holding the vision of care and well being for all life on our planet. Together we are creating the miraculous transformation so needed to manifest a positive future for our world.
Your prayer/meditation time can be for as long or as short a time as you wish, using whatever method best suits you. Many people in our Peace Planet community have found reading the Peace Planet Proclamation to be a helpful way to begin a peace circle or group prayer or meditation time. You can hear a spoken version of it on our website as well as read the entire text.
We are so excited by the current convergence of purpose taking place all around us. Check out the links on our website where you’ll find a fantastic synergy happening with organizations such as the Global Coherence Initiative and Lynne McTaggart’s ongoing “Intention Experiments.” The work that people like Gregg Braden and so many others are doing is profoundly inspiring for us.
If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience Women on the Edge of Evolution, a worldwide series of FREE teleconferences airing on Saturday mornings, 9:30 to 11:00 am PST, you owe it to yourself to check it out. You will be deeply moved! The hosts, Claire Zammit and Katherine Woodward Thomas, have been interviewing luminaries such as Barbara Marx Hubbard and Jean Houston in a series of 14 inspiring, interactive conversations. They are taking a break over the holidays, but past programs are available online any time you want to listen. We have chosen to begin our 01-02-2010 Global Prayer/Meditation for 2010 immediately after one of these teleconferences because there are already more than 30,000 women (and many men) gathered together and participating wholeheartedly. The immense gratitude and connection after the call that so many of us feel creates a natural space for our global community to move into the clear intention of seeing our world in peace and wholeness.
What is inspiring YOU these days? We would love to hear from you. How are you choosing to honor the New Year 2010? Please feel free to leave your comments on this blog.
Warmest wishes for a beautiful 2010,
Laura Merrell, Barbara Hughes, and Donna Austin
Exciting New Development!
We are very happy and excited to announce that Peace Planet Project has begun a wonderful new collaboration with the Charitable Partnership Fund (CPF) of Portland, Oregon, to create Peace Planet Foundation (PPF). PPF is now one of the programs that the CPF has under its umbrella of philanthropic and cooperative funding endeavors.
The CPF (cpfgives.org) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is assisting the Project to maximize its potential as a leader in the world shift toward peace and the healing of our planet. Through our collaboration, Peace Planet Foundation is able to offer (in applicable circumstances) tax-deductible purchases of the Peace Planet Proclamation to individuals or organizations that can use such deductions. In turn, PPF will be funding other organizations (perhaps yours?) that meet the criteria we have set out in our founding statement. You can read about these criteria on our home page.
It has always been the mission of Peace Planet Project to support, unite, and prosper the MANY types of organizations that are now working toward world peace and environmental sustainability. We believe in our heart of hearts that the Peace Planet Proclamation is the vehicle to do this. Organizations can easily transform a bulk purchase of the Proclamation into a fundraising success story. And now, the Peace Planet Foundation can take the funds that we bring in from your purchase and turn them around into grants to other organizations whose positive work in the world is serving to shift humanity’s perception of what is possible.
This is a groundbreaking new form of fundraising, which promotes self-sustainability. We hope you will join us on the journey!
Peace Planet Project on the Radio
Laura Merrell was recently invited to be interviewed on Conscious Talk Radio, based in Seattle, WA, to speak about the Peace Planet Project and related topics. It was a wonderful half hour and you can listen to the whole thing from the station’s Archives pages. The program’s hosts, Rob Spears and Brenda Michaels, are very much aligned with the Peace Planet spirit and intentions. Have a listen, and learn more about the Peace Planet Project!

December Update
We have sent out a newsletter to our mailing list, updating everyone who has subscribed, so I thought it would be a good idea to post a few excerpts here…

My daughter and I created the new symbol for peace and the healing of our planet in “The Meadow” of the exquisitely beautiful and ancient Chalice Well Garden. We created a 24 foot (12 m) image using black and white cloth that we dipped into the sacred Red Well and carried to the site in The Meadow. I began the meditation at midnight on the 8th and we were joined by people all around the world for the 24-hour vigil.
We also had visitors join us in the Chalice Well Garden and up on top of the nearby Glastonbury Tor (which means “conical hill” in the local Gaelic dialect), which overlooks the Chalice Well. Surprisingly, we had a few visitors show up during the day from distant places as far way as Australia, Canada, and Venezuela, who told me they felt drawn to come to Chalice Well Gardens, but didn’t know why until they came upon the image quite spontaneously in The Meadow.
Since arriving back in America, we have had some personal family challenges. However, as with all struggles, there are always blessings right in the midst, and I’m very happy to report that Peace Planet Project is now steadily gaining momentum, and preparing some new offerings for you.
Thank you for your support and your patience! We would still love to see your photographs from 8-8-08 or any gatherings you have held to bring the consciousness of peace to the world. Feel free to submit them to me, and we will add them to our Gallery on the website. We are also collecting images that we’ll use to produce a video! It is never too late to acknowledge and remember all of our little steps toward peace. It all adds up! Day by day, we practice the peace WITHIN that creates the peace in the world we all long for. Friends, we feel honored to be on this path with you!

September Update
We at Peace Planet Project want to let you know that the Glastonbury, England Global Peace Gathering was a beautiful, amazing experience, and we had people from all over the world joining us in meditation. We will be updating the website to reflect our next activities while continuing our support for other organizations’ peace events. We’ll have pictures from Glastonbury, as well as pictures that other people and groups have sent in of their own 8-8-08 experiences.
If you would like to contribute some words or pictures to the Gallery we will be putting up for 8-8-08, please do not hesitate to do so! You can email them directly to Laura at laura@peaceplanetproject.com. We know we’ve been quiet of late—it’s been a time of regrouping since the trip—but feel free to keep in touch and let us know about your visions for peace in this world. Look for a newsletter to the mailing list very soon!

8-8-08 in Glastonbury
Well, Laura was safely at the Chalice Well Meadow in Glastonbury as expected, and below is a picture of the completed mandala! Bear in mind that this is not THE picture… a good aerial shot from above, but it’s hot off the press (or rather, the digital camera).
We will be creating a gallery of pictures soon on the Peace Planet Project website showing the entire day. In the meantime, here is what Laura wrote when she finally got access to email:
Hello dear Beloveds!
Gabri and I had the most remarkable, blessed 8-8-08! So many details to share when we return. For now, I just want to share what kind of day it was, unfolding from early dawn. As it turned out we couldn’t be at the Chalice Well through the night, so I began my meditation at the B&B where Gabri and I are staying and moved to the beautiful Chalice Well Meadow, at the CW Gardens, beginning at 8 am. We enjoyed a blustery, sunny, often mild day.
The sculpture on the ground, as you can see, is built upon the framework of the Vesica Pisces, which is and has been a profoundly important symbol since ancient times, which speaks of unity, balance in all ways, including balancing the masculine and feminine energies. The sides of the Vesica Pisces showed up in a vision I had as two birds–the Dove and the Raven, symbolizing the unification of opposites, embracing diversity. This is a new symbol for Peace on Earth because it harkens the end of duality of thinking so needed in the process of the healing of our planet today. It symbolizes reverence and respect in the deepest way for one another and all living things.
We heard many stories and had visitors from all around the world today. Several of whom really had no idea why they had come to Glastonbury and to Chalice Well, until they arrived and saw the new symbol laid out on the ground. As Gabrielle and I looked on, we saw people come together to hold hands in the center. We saw children playing all around it, and inside the boundaries of the image, without disturbing it at all. In the early morning as we were laying out the image, there was a steady chorus of mourning doves; by mid-day the crows had come to caw-caw! into the peaceful silence.
An Australian shaman woman came, named Morning Star, who was traveling around the world to sacred sites. She felt drawn to come, as others had, not really knowing why.
As the days go by we will fine-tune the images and bring in more from above on the Tor. We will welcome the stories and images of people from all around the world. For now, I must get this laptop back to its kind owner and get some sleep. Good night dears!
Much Love, Joy and Peace to you all!
Laura and Gabrielle
Trusting
This is Barbara again. Despite the fact that we haven’t heard from Laura today, I know now that all is well. The reason is because of this link. I actually gave you the link in my last post. The people at Chalice Well put up information on their website about Laura’s event just “today” on August 7. See this page on their site.
